The School was founded on the auspicious day of BAISAKHI i.e. April 13,1994 . The school was initially established for classes Nursery to 6th standard. The school was granted affiliation till class 10th in the year 1998 by CBSE, New Delhi and later for senior secondary classes in the year 2000. The school now has a unique privilege of running Medical, Non-Medical and commerce stream in senior secondary classes.
The school is proceeding with the vision “Great works are performed not by strength but by perseverance”. The school is situated on Hisar-Chandigarh highway in the heart of the city.
The infrastructure of the school has now acquired an attractive look. It has a big campus consisting of 100 class rooms, built on C.B.S.E. norms. Separate labs for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer have been facilitated with modern techniques. The present nursery block is situated in the rear portion of the building, well furnished with modern aids of teaching and smart boards.
The campus of the school is lush green with well maintained lawns. The environment in and around the school is eco-friendly.
A child who is a member of R.K.S.D.Sr.Sec. Public School gets good experience through teaching learning process followed. The school has well furnished and air-conditioned library medaled with a wide variety of books on each subject. The school follows the modern techniques of education through smart boards in smart class rooms for a visual impact on brains along with verbal discussion. For our tender souls we provide a separate platform for their intellectual development. They are taught dining manners in special dining room.
The school is divided in four houses Gandhi, Nehru, Ptel, Subhash and 6 clubs – Eco, Mathematics, Science, Art and Crafts, Health and Activity club. Wide range of activities & competitions and organized house-wise like Debates, Declamation, Elocution, Rakhi making, Bouquet making, Greeting card making, Rangoli making and painting to build up the student’ social skills and create family feeling in the school.
The school organize4s various exhibitions of Art and craft, Mathematics and Science for practical learning. Students work on a theme of general interest and put up all relevant information. Various cultural activities like group songs, group dance and plays are organized on special occasion such as Children day and Diwali celebration to develop feeling of unity in diversity. The school also encourages to visit the places of educational, historical and of cultural interests as a part of the education.
